What can we do to help the Haitian Coast Guard?

Does anybody have any ideas on how we could help our shipmates in the Haitian Coast Guard? Better yet, know of any drives underway to help them directly? If so, please let us know. Thank you!

I'm a bit late with this, but it showed up a few days ago (02-10) in Wired Magazine:
They have to pay out of pocket for cell phones and pooled money for a slow net connection.

    "Rebooting Haiti’s Quake-Ravaged Coast Guard"
The quake collapsed several key buildings at the main coast guard base at Killick, southwest of the capital. The mess hall, depot and main administrative buildings were all seriously damaged; one of the two launch piers was also partly destroyed. Worse still, the commander of the station, Commander Joseph-Jean Mary Wagnac, was injured.

Heres a link to an entry on the D13 blog, one of our PA's is down there right now. There are some pictures of joint U.S. Coast Guard and Haitian Coast Guard operations.

Heres the text from one picture:

"PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti - Coast Guard Seaman Graham Smith, from the Coast Guard Cutter Legare, translates for the Coast Guard during a joint U.S. and Haitian Coast Guard patrol January 23, 2010. Smith, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa, is part of the U.S. Coast Guard's effort to re-establishing the Haitian Coast Guard's ability to perform normal operations by providing them with the fuel, supplies and assistance they need. We may already be doing this, but while we have ships in Haiti, we could integrate some of the Haitian officers and enlisted into the crew, not just as interpreters.

If there is not already an exchange program we could do that.

We have had a program with Costa Rica for a long time that could serve as a model.
