From the Coast Guard Curatorial Services’ Borrowing Artifacts From the U.S. Coast Guard website:

NOTE:

At this time, Coast Guard Curatorial Services is no longer accepting artifact loan applications. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to restore the artifact loan program soon.

Does anyone have any updates?  They would be much appreciated.

  • Thanks for the news. I hope they restore the artifact loan program soon.

    Jim,

Thank you for your interest in our program. Curatorial Services actually has been processing new loans but on a severely limited basis. We have a rather extensive backlog of expired loans that we are in the process of renewing as well as a large amount of documentation and paperwork accompanies new donations and accessions into the artifact program. When this backlog is complete we plan on resuming our loan program at full capacity. I will have our webmaster change the Historian website to reflect our current limited loaning.
