Readers Poll: Interested in a Coast Guard Social Media PodCamp during the Innovation Expo?

We mentioned there may be a social media function during the Coast Guard’s Innovation Expo ‘09 and sure enough one is officially in the works. We’re looking at doing a PodCamp style event- better said it’s an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event.

So now we need to find out, in a roundabout way, how many of you’d be interested in attending? Our target audience is anyone withing the Coast Guard community/military oriented (official and/or unofficial) who’s interested in sharing, learning, and discussing everything social media with some like-minded folks; perhaps where and how it can be used in and out of the organization? So now we need your vote and your help to get the word out about the vote. On the right you’ll see the poll- vote once and tell your friends to do the same. Please only vote if you’ll be in the area.

And to head off any questions- as of now we don’t have a time table or pseudo agenda. We know it’s going to be held during the innovation expo in November (I think the 17th) and though admission to the Expo won’t be/may not be free, the PodCamp social gathering will be FREE.
