What's great are the threats coming from CGReport. First, directed at the wrong person, and secondly, empty. At CGReport he's resorted to having full blog conversations with himself. Finally someone talks about TJ and "Jerry Johnson" comes back out when TJ is brought up. The "didn't TJ sell this site" is followed by a post ONE MINUTE LATER by Jerry Johnson, the "buyer" of the site. Yes, we all know they're the same people. So, PJ makes mention of the new "owner" of CGReport and less than a MINUTE LATER that "owner" Jerry Johnson, who hasn't said anything in MONTHS, responds? Now THAT'S a good response time people! Unless.....As soon as PJ (pronounced TJ) clicked "enter" he then sent his Jerry Johnson message too.
To top it off, Thomas Jackson is throwing "CGHQ" or "HQ" into his posts.
I am surprised that their website is allowing the attacks on Mr. Patterson, that they are.
Hardleftrudder, we can only hope that TJ moves forward with any actions he thinks are appropriate, as his actions have not been appropriate, and fortunately, many in this organization agree.

If you read the Booze Allen report you can easily determine that the major problem in the office is that OCR was cruising along with no leadership and the entire staff abusing the telecommuting program. When Dickenson shut it down, they all got pissed.

Including Thomas Jackson's "friend" ::wink wink::
mrjacksonthomas
Well now, things are getting a little interesting at CGReport, not because there is any new information, but because Thomas Jackson is floundering as usual.
Before I go any further, it is important that people understand, Ryan Erickson does not give me a podium. I discuss things like everyone else. If you don't agree with it, it is not because Ryan want's me to spout my agenda, but because Ryan Erickson is allowing for a free flow of ideas and comments.
Let me clue some readers into a history of deception. Not TOO long ago Thomas Jackson's Coast Guard Report "reported" on a good deal of false stories. CG Report constantly quoted anonymous "sources" within CGHQ...never supporting the statements. After that, Thomas Jackson commented on his own blog as a series of different names. How did we know? Because common words were miss-spelled, common "themes" came up with various "posters".
As Thomas Jackson began to dig his hole deeper and deeper, people, like you and I, began to pick up on it. Thomas Jackson was confronted more than once by a series of posters. As the pressure mounted, Thomas Jackson "sold" the blog to another fake name. It was said that the blog was going to head in a different direction. He began to cover other services too. As the report came back from the review of the Office of Civil Rights, and that independent report pointed a finger at Thomas Jackson's blog of unfounded, and miscalculated statements, and then was backed up by Rep. Cummins, Thomas Jackson "retired" from blogging.
Did he leave? No. Was CGReport ever actually sold? No. Thomas Jackson wanted to remove "the heat".
Now, Thomas Jackson has again been shown to make up stories, stories that attacked the Coast Guard we all love, and as he has been called out on it, Thomas Jackson has returned to posting with a variety of other names on his own site. A poster called him out today citing that "staff" and Anon PA both spelled the SAME word wrong in related posts. They both used ceased instead of seized. That's a misspelling you'd expect from Thomas Jackson, but not one you would expect from a PA type. Various other names popped up, attacking CGBlog, asking "why does Ryan Erickson allow this to happen". Of course these are names we have NEVER seen before. Thomas Jackson feels the need to create this names in order to "deceive" the reader into believing he has more support. If you check his counter, you'll realize every time you "reload" his site, it counts twice. You're not a new reader. I'm not even talking about leaving the site and coming back later. I'm talking about clicking the "reload" and seeing the counter increase by two EVERYTIME you do it. He's adding hits to his website, and then pretending it's a reader....HE'S DOING IT HIMSELF!
He doesn't have support and he doesn't have sources. He uses open source and infers to a level that makes it look like something is going on. He did it today with the CGA piece. He has done it in the past, delaying story after story to make readers believe something "HUGE" will come out....and it never does.
Jackson and his fake names want you to believe that I am Mr. Patterson. Mr. Patterson, you would have a case to confront Thomas Jackson legally if he continues to trash your name on his blog. That statement clearly shows...you have no idea who I am. I don't want Mr. Patterson to be accused of making statements he's not.
That's the history. The spin is out of control, the facts weak, and the comments unfounded on CGReport. Thomas Jackson's attacks on Ryan Erickson and Mr. Patterson are misdirected to say the least. With the exception of Michael DeKort (who I don't think always agrees with TJ), there is no reason not to believe that every post on TJ's blog is not TJ with a different name (excluding CGRetort).
Thomas Jackson tweets that my comments bring his site more traffic, like I am concerned about the traffic to his site. I don't care about his numbers. The vast majority of the small numbers that DO visit his site do so because they can't look away from the crash. They go there because it is the Jerry Springer of blogs, we know it's fake, and we know it's staged, and we know everyone is acting.
?
Does anyone actually know who Thomas Jackson is?
On a different note - there appears to be 2 contributors to CGR... 1 is definitely on the East Coast - somewhere in HQ.
The other one is someone out in the Bay Area... Someone under "staff" has mentioned that they are located in the Bay Area. In addition one of the contributors twitted about BERTHOLF getting the drug bust before the press release... which was announced by Thadmiral at the PACAREA change of command. So someone on CGR's "staff" was definitely in the audience.
mrjacksonthomas
For CGR, we know of Michael DeKort who contributes now and then. While I don't agree with Mike, he does openly post, was never in the Coast Guard, but as a contractor. Mike was a whistle blower, who in my opinion, was never able to drop it after his whistle blowing days have been over.
Then you have Thomas Jackson and Terry Burgess. I'm not convinced these two people are not the same person. I am also not convinced that they are currently stationed anywhere. We do know that Thomas Jackson had a friend at the Office of Civil Rights. I do believe they may be closing in on his little rat in that office. I know "Terry Burgess" is TJ's little scooper, trying to find stories. I am not convince that Terry Burgess isn't actually TJ.
I know Michael DeKort is NOT behind it all, and I suspect he doesn't buy into everything TJ says on his site, for two reasons, 1. he's not dumb and 2. TJ's site is the only one that gives Mike a forum, so he's willing to ignore, or even defend some of Thomas Jackson's crazier statements. If Mike looked deep down inside himself, I'm sure he'd figure out it's not the right thing.
On top of these names, you have many other names that TJ uses, all fake, all meant to bump his numbers and fool you into believing that he has more supporters...because he doesn't. It's just him and a few pals, making phone calls, asking currently serving Coast Guardsmen questions at different units questions, trying to create stories where there aren't any...
Do we know who Thomas Jackson is? Sure, he was a general from the Civil War. A VMI graduate commonly known as "Stonewall" Jackson. Stonewall Jackson however never blogged.

There was a post over there the other day talking about a change of command ceremony in DC they supposedly attended. It makes a big deal about noting the weather and naming the place they went for lunch afterwards. All of that detail indicates that the writer is really going out of his/her to way prove he/she was there.
And that's interesting to me because in the time I've read that blog they've never been so open about their activities in DC. It's always been "our sources at HQ". So I wonder what's got them so intent on convincing everyone that one or more of them work there now ;) If the comments section of one of the CGR threads, some CGR writer talks about how sensitive they are about protecting the identities of CG employees who contribute to their site. Yet they make a post about attending a ceremony and even include where they went for lunch afterwards? Why is my BS detector going off?
terryburgess
I'm not sure why your BS detector is going off. I wrote that post. The fact that I was able to combine business with pleasure, and anyone who has ever had the fried chicken at the Slip Inn knows that's a pleasure. For those of us around in DC back in the days before the Slip Inn had a giant Tiki Bar and deck going around it, the Slip Inn was just good food and drink. It was darker, smoky had the same old retired guys in there every day. It's brighter inside these days but it still the exact same lay out it was 30 years ago (except for the deck).
For any of you in the DC area who visit the Bolling AFB Exchange from time to time, or have meetings a Bolling, include a stop at the Slip Inn. Or for that matter any of you visiting the Station.
P.S. Order the tatters with the chicken and ask them how long the keg has been in the cooler before ordering a draft. The last two times I've been there I got warm American Ale.
?
Terry, Were you the person that tweeted from the PACAREA change of command?
terryburgess
Clearly I'm not going to get into detail on where I've been. A post here and there on where I've been is one thing, building a chronology could have me stoned in front of the Darth Vader building.
CGBlog would like to thank the generosity of Dan Trimble for his time and service in helping move the site to it's new home and for maintaining it free of charge.
